There is no medium like the internet to have created preconditions for tearing down barriers worldwide in order to bring to life the idea of the Global Village. Our contribution toward that aim is this page, which we dedicate to the Finkbeiners of the world.
It may make other families follow our example, namely: call out into the world and wait for the echoes. Every human being has about the same number of ancestors; the act of remembering them brings us closer to the realization of an age-old human dream, the dream of immortality. Listing names, telling stories, proliferating theories we make sure that the people concerned are not forgotten.
However, our main concern are the living. We would like to know where there live Finkbeiners, what they do, which are their interests. Whenever I am face to face with a Finkbeiner, I look for similarities. What may we have in common? Where are the differences? We cannot look our visitors in the eye, but we may communicate with them across all borderlines.
We are still at the beginning; we shall have to invest much time and work before we even start to realize our ideas. It may be worthwhile to visit this website off and on to see how it develops. Some of our projects are quite ambitious - regarding the amount of time that we can spare. Especially now, at the outset, we are eager to have your feedback and see whether you tune in to our ideas.
