First of all we would like to thank
Guenter Finkbeiner and
Brigitte Finkbeiner, who planned the whole journey and who took on quite a responsibility. The rest of us could sit back and enjoy a well-organized trip - which we certainly did. Thank you very much.

Many thanks to all in Michigan who received us so kindly and took out time to be with us. A special thank you to
Gary Finkbeiner for his preparatory work and the guided tour of Caledonia, Middleville, and Leighton.
Thanks to
Stanley and Betty Finkbeiner who generously opened their summer home to us.
We thank the
United Methodist Church at Leighton for the memorable evening they arranged for us in their community center.

Linda Finkbeiner, welch in charge of the complete organization of the Second International Finkbeiner Reunion. Very special thanks to her and to all those who helped her, Finkbeiner and non-Finkbeiner alike.
Many thanks to
Reginald Finkbeiner, too, especially for the Historical Room he set up at Centralia Academy..
We thank all who made possible the gala on Saturday night - either on the stage or behind the scenes. And we thank the staff of Centralia Academy, who made our stay there a pleasant one.
Tour guidance
 | | Hartmut Doering, London, Canada |
|
 | | Steve Mathews, Windsor |
|
Our tour guide,
Hartmut Doering, did a marvelous job. We could not have wished for a more dedicated companion. Thank you very much. We must not forget
Steve Mathews, our bus-driver. He could be relied on to find a way out of any emergency. On one occasion, he even had us push the bus. We remember him fondly.
We also thank our travel agency,
Ellison Tours Ltd., Exeter, who were in charge of the overall organization of this wonderful journey.
The rest
Northwest Airlines took us smoothly across the Atlantic and back. We give special thanks to Captain
McDonnell Douglas and to steward
Hartmut, who provided us with a fair amount of wine and beer.
There are more who helped to make this voyage a success, but who are not explicitly mentioned here. We thank them heartily, nevertheless.
The diary
Brigitte Finkbeiner has fed her diary into the computer and also translated it into English. Without her help these pages could not have appeared on the internet.
